On 14 June, join us for the opening event of Community Energy Fortnight. This year, for our summer conference, we have partnered with Innovate UK to explore some of the most innovative projects in the UK community energy sector.

On the day you will hear from:

Damien Kelly - Innovate UK, on key themes, opportunities, barriers from the projects Innovate UK is involved with.

Barabara Hammond - Low Carbon Hub - Project LEO update and thoughts on innovation and the future of the sector.

Matthew Clayton - Thrive Renewables, on the role of funding in innovative new projects and the future of community energy.

Afsheen Rashid & Rodrigo Matabuena - GreenSCIES, a two-year project to design a smart local energy system in Islington. The system will use local waste heat and renewable energy to deliver heating, cooling, power and electric vehicle charging to residents and businesses.

Grace Bebbington & Louise Alter - Zero Carbon Rugely, a project aiming to produce an innovative design for a town-wide Smart Local Energy System including the former Rugeley Power Station site which will demonstrate how carbon emissions and energy costs can be reduced whilst also providing a boost for local regeneration.

Jon Selman & Dan Turner - SUNPeople, who are exploring combining solar energy (photovoltaic and/or thermal) and heat pumps as a heating solution, initially for residential (private and social housing) and commercial premises.

If you have anything you want to shout about, email Jon (j.hall@communityeneergyengland.org) to take part in the Community Energy Soapbox, your opportunity for a one minute pitch to the sector.
