Community Energy and Neighbourhood Planning

24/01/2019 12.15-16.30

In this free workshop, you can find out more about what community energy projects might be suitable for your locale, how to effectively engage others in your community with ideas and build them into neighbourhood plans.

The workshop will be delivered by the Centre for Sustainable Energy and be based around the PlanLoCaL scale model, a fictitious but typical British urban to rural landscape which will enable you to consider how different renewable energy types fit within a landscape, and what combination of energy sources may be suitable for your area. There will also be a presentation on the neighbourhood planning process and how community led energy projects can be developed in conjunction with neighbourhood plans.

You will also hear an update from Community Energy England , the national voice of the sector and from the Greater South East Energy Hub on available support and funding which could take your community energy project from a plan to reality.

Note: If you attended the community energy workshop in July 2018, this workshop is designed to build on the themes introduced with interactive activities to develop ideas and move projects forward.

Spaces are limited so please register to confirm your attendance here.
