Climate and Environment Mass Lobby Coordinator

Climate Change Coalition

The Climate Coalition, made up of over 150 organisations and groups taking action on climate change, and Greener UK, comprising of the 14 major environmental groups working to enhance the UK’s environment, are coming together to combine their supportership and host the first ever environmental and climate lobby. Recent research found that MPs simply didn’t feel like climate and environmental issues were top of their constituents’ concern list. The same research, however, showed that 63% of British adults believe the UK should be a world leader in climate action. In the summer of 2019, we will have reached a critical moment for both the Net Zero and Environment Act campaigns, and we are planning to join forces and bring as many people from across the country face to face with their MPs to ask them to deliver the changes we need to see. We are looking for a competent and experienced project manager who can manage a wider variety of stakeholders effectively to design and deliver the summer mass lobby.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Convene the mass lobby Working Group and chair regular meetings.

  • Coordinate staff working within the Working Group, assigning roles and distributing key tasks.

  • Liaise regularly with logistical lead, Greener UK lead and The Climate Coalition lead.

  • Co-facilitate brainstorming and creative sessions to map out activity across the country in the lead up to the mass lobby, as well as on the day activity.

  • Use project management tools to keep on top of delivery deadlines and campaign timelines.

  • Work with The Climate Coalition to manage the mass lobby budget.

  • Manage sign off processes to move plans forward and deliver the mass lobby.
