The Community Energy Awards is an annual event that recognises and celebrates outstanding achievements in community energy. This ceremony brings together individuals, organisations, and initiatives that are making significant contributions to the advancement of sustainable and locally-driven energy solutions. This year's ceremony, supported by Electricity North West, will take place the Lowry Theatre in Manchester on Friday 17 November, 6-10pm.
The awards highlight the innovative projects, inspiring leaders, and impactful initiatives that are shaping the future of community energy. With various categories that cover a wide range of achievements, the event showcases the diverse efforts and successes within the sector.
Nominations open to CEE members
The deadline for nominations has been extended, and you can now submit your nominations until Friday 29 September.
If you are a member of Community Energy England or connected to one of our members, we invite you to participate. And if you're not already a member, now is the perfect time to join us.
To complete the nomination process, please review the relevant guidance and fill out the Google form here. We recommend drafting your nomination in a word document and then copying it into the Google form when ready to submit.
Whether you wish to nominate yourself, your organisation, or commend other deserving individuals or organisations, we welcome your nomination. However, please ensure you have obtained the nominee's permission before submitting.
The judging process will be conducted by a panel of experts who will evaluate each nomination across the 12 categories. Rest assured, the selection process will be fair and transparent.
Reminder: Nominees must be a CEE member or actively collaborating with one.
Tickets for the awards ceremony
The winners will be announced during the ceremony on 17 November. We encourage you to attend and you can book your free ticket here.
Please note that each organisation is restricted to a maximum of four free tickets. Should you require more than four tickets, we kindly request you consider making a contribution towards the price of an additional ticket.

This award recognises the most commendable collaboration between a community energy organisation and its partners. The nominated collaboration should demonstrate outstanding efforts in supporting and advancing community energy through partnerships, investments, policy advocacy, or various forms of assistance, which have increased community energy activity or impact.

The Community Engagement and Inclusion Award recognises the exceptional commitment of community energy organisations in England to build sustainable communities through inclusive, long-term, measurable, relevant, and sustainable community engagement.

Community Energy Champion - Individual
The Community Energy Champion of the Year Award recognises one exceptional individual, in England, who has made an outstanding contribution to the advancement of the community energy sector in 2022/ 2023.

Youth Energy
This award celebrates the increasing amount of creative, organised and motivated young people (under 25 years old) getting involved in community energy. It recognises the outstanding work that one individual young person has done to make an impact on a community energy project, or celebrates what a community energy organisation is doing to engage young people in the sector.

Community Energy Organisation of the year (Small to Medium)
This award recognises one community energy organisation that has demonstrated excellence across their operations, delivery, impact, engagement, innovation, and contribution to the broader sector. To be eligible for this award,your organisation needs to fall within the turnover range of £0- 100,000.

Community Energy Organisation of the year (Large)
This award recognises one community energy organisation that has demonstrated excellence across their operations, delivery, impact, engagement, innovation, and contribution to the broader sector. To be eligible for this award, your organisation must have a turnover above £100,000.

This award category aims to recognise community energy organisations that have demonstrated remarkable progress in scale, impact, or range of activities over the 2022/2023 period, no matter their starting point.
