This morning we were out in Shotton knocking on doors and chatting to residents about our upcoming solar conversation to see whether this topic matters locally.

We heard a real mix of views: some people have noticed the growing number of solar farms along the A19, some are curious to learn more, and others shared concerns about losing farmland or felt panels should go on rooftops instead.

At the same time, many people recognise the need for alternative energy sources and said solar would be welcome if it helped bring down electricity bills.

What was clear is that people want the chance to talk, learn, and hear different perspectives — which is exactly what this event is about. We’d love to have your voice in the room.
