Regen invite you to join them at this webinar – Building Blocks: Developing community capacity for a just transition.
| Communities are increasingly expected to play a central role in delivering the energy transition, from community-owned renewables and local retrofit, to fuel poverty support and local energy advice. Yet many, particularly those facing income inequality and marginalisation, have seen their capacity eroded over the past decade by austerity measures and rising living costs. Understanding and building capacity among communities will be crucial to realising a transition that benefits and empowers everyone. |
| In this session you will: Hear key insights from the Building Blocks paper Gain a clearer understanding of what enables communities to lead and benefit from local energy action, and what holds them back Explore, alongside our expert panel of Zarina Ahmad (University of Manchester), Clare Richards (Community Energy Scotland) and Fraser Stewart (Great British Energy), how policy, funding and delivery frameworks can better support deeper, more inclusive community capacity building Discuss how the energy transition can become and opportunity for communities, rather than reinforcing existing inequalities |
