  • Seeing is Believing North East & Yorkshire Networking Event

    Date: 13 January 2026

    Location: The Carriageworks Theatre, Leeds

    Community Energy ‘Seeing is Believing North East and Yorkshire’ is a programme funded by the North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub and delivered by Community Energy EnglandAshden and Centre for Sustainable Energy. It is designed to share inspiring stories from people already doing great things in community energy through site visits, networking events and matchmaking, in order to support new connections and projects.

    At this free networking event we will showcase community energy projects in the region and will bring together local authorities, community energy enterprises and anyone interested in supporting the growth of community energy in the region. It will be a unique opportunity to meet, share opportunities and challenges, make new connections and potentially form new partnerships.

    The day will be a mix of presentations, facilitated discussions and peer learning sessions. Lunch will be provided and there will be plenty of time for networking.

  • Net Zero Living insight webinar Community Empowerment

    Date: 13 January 2026

    Location: Online

    Regen invite community energy groups to join an insight webinar focused on community empowerment as part of the Net Zero Living project.

    This webinar will explore three approaches that have helped communities play an active role in driving change:

    • Bringing people into decision-making – enabling communities to influence priorities and outcomes
    • Spreading the wealth through collaboration – supporting shared ownership, local value and partnership working
    • Sharing information and tools – improving access to data, skills and resources to support delivery

    The session will be particularly relevant for community energy organisations interested in working more closely with local authorities, shaping local net zero strategies, and scaling community-led delivery.

  • CEE New Member Introduction Meeting - January 2026

    This session aims to extend a warm welcome to new members of the CEE network. We will provide an opportunity for new members to gain a better understanding of how to engage with the CEE network and make the most of their membership.

  • Regen Planning Conference 2026: Delivering clean power through planning

    Date: 27 January 2026

    Join Regen, developers, planning consultants, lawyers, and policymakers for a focused one-day programme of insight, debate, and networking. This event is an opportunity to hear from experts, share ideas and set the agenda for renewable energy planning in the year ahead.

  • The Role of Community Energy in Decarbonising Public Buildings (Seeing is Believing lunchtime webinar: North East and Yorkshire)

    Local authorities are increasingly exploring ways to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency in public buildings. Electrification of heating and energy systems, delivered in partnership with community energy initiatives, is proving to be a practical and effective approach.

    This webinar will showcase examples of public buildings being electrified and decarbonised through community energy projects

    Attendees will gain insights into:

    • How community energy can support electrification and renewable energy delivery in public buildings.
    • Case studies from successful projects.
    • Lessons learned from partnerships between councils and community energy organisations.
    • Guidance for developing projects that deliver local and environmental benefits.

    Whether you are a council officer, public sector stakeholder, or involved in a community energy organisation, this session will provide useful examples and ideas for accelerating the energy transition in public buildings.

    This event is part of the North East and Yorkshire Seeing is Believing programme, funded by the North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub, and delivered with CEE, Ashden and Centre for Sustainable Energy. It highlights how community energy organisations and local authorities can collaborate, showcasing the benefits for communities and stakeholders across the region.
