Grant Value: A total of up to £1.3m [Great British Energy, and local authorities Camden and Haringey offer funding opportunities to support community energy projects. Those considering applying for LCEF may also explore these options as alternatives or for match funding where permitted.]
Apply for up to:
- £10,000 for stream one (feasibility)
- £60,000 for stream two (delivery)
- £3,000 for stream three (development fund)

Summary: A key objective of the fund is to strengthen the capacity of London’s community energy sector, with up to 25 percent of each grant available to support the core costs of community energy organisations. Funding is also open to other community organisations undertaking clean energy and energy efficiency initiatives.
Who can apply? The fund is particularly targeted at small organisations with charitable aims operating in London. We welcome applications from community groups who have not previously been involved in energy projects. Funding is available across three funding streams for community energy projects in London;

What will it fund? This fund supports community projects across London that:
- reduce greenhouse gas emissions in London
- lead to collective action to reduce, manage and generate energy
- promote community-led development and delivery of energy projects that provide direct benefit to the local community
- increase community awareness and action on clean energy
- increase the resilience of communities that are vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and high energy costs
