2025 Award Finalist: Sector Support: Northern Powergrid

Since its launch in January 2025, the Northern PowerGrid Community Energy Team has quickly become a valuable resource for the sector, supporting over 40 projects with hands-on guidance, practical training, and knowledge sharing. They help community groups build technical, financial, and organisational skills, while fostering collaboration across local authorities, funders, and technical experts. Judges noted that while it’s early days, the team has made a strong start, showing clear potential to have a lasting impact on community energy in the UK.
