2025 Award Finalist: Fuel Poverty Action: Yorkshire Energy Doctor CIC

Yorkshire Energy Doctor (YED CIC) helps households in North and East Yorkshire stay warm, reduce bills, and tackle fuel poverty through tailored advice, home visits, community outreach, and innovative partnerships with health services. Over the past year, their work with Primary Care Networks reached hard-to-reach patients with chronic health conditions, helping 239 people access energy support, benefit entitlements, home heating improvements, and the Priority Services Register. YED also trains local organisations through its Community Energy Ambassadors programme, extending support to over 4,000 residents and sharing energy advice widely via social media and newsletters. Judges praised YED’s trusted, local approach, strong health partnerships, and accessible, embedded advice, noting clear, positive outcomes for vulnerable residents while highlighting the program’s effective, targeted reach.
