We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join Croydon Community Energy (CCE) as a Fuel Poverty Director. As the Fuel Poverty Director, you will be responsible for managing our energy bills advice service, and ensuring CCE contributes positively to tackling fuel poverty in Croydon. This voluntary position presents a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on peoples’ lives and contribute to our goal of achieving equitable access to affordable and sustainable energy.

Essential
● A genuine passion for social justice and addressing fuel poverty in the community.
● Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks
and manage multiple responsibilities.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work empathetically
with individuals facing challenging circumstances.
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
● Availability to commit a dedicated amount of time as a volunteer, with flexibility to
accommodate the needs of community members.

Desirable
● Experience in managing volunteers or coordinating community-based services
● A familiarity with community organisations in Croydon, or previous experience working
with community organisations in another location.
● Knowledge and understanding of fuel poverty issues, energy efficiency, and available
support services.
● Familiarity with local energy programmes, financial assistance schemes, and regulatory
frameworks related to fuel poverty.
● Proficiency in data collection and analysis to measure impact and inform decision-making.
● NEA Level 3 Domestic Energy Awareness qualification.

Terms and Conditions
Length of contract: 12 months (from July)
Salary: Voluntary, expenses covered inline with our expenses policy
Hours/days: Approximately 15 hours per month
Place of work: Remote, with occasional face-to-face meetings in Croydon
