Bright Renewables, the trading name of Community Owned Asset Management Limited (COAM), was created by community benefit societies, with community benefit societies, and for community benefit societies. It was established to address a persistent challenge faced by the sector: while specialist support existed in individual areas, no single organisation could provide the complete range of expertise required to develop, deliver, operate, and sustain a community-owned energy asset throughout its lifecycle. We created that missing solution: a trusted, single-point partner that brings together all the skills needed to turn community energy ambitions into long-term success, eliminating the need for community groups to manage multiple advisors, contractors, and service providers.

Today, Bright Renewables is the UK's leading integrated service provider for community-owned renewable energy. We currently support ten community benefit societies and their network of more than 50 affiliated companies, overseeing a portfolio of more than 80MW of renewable generation across over seventy operational projects in England and Wales. Our services span project development support, procurement and EPC oversight; operations and maintenance management; contractor coordination; financial administration, accounting and revenue management; governance, company secretariat and statutory reporting; revenue support and contract management; and community engagement, capacity-building and mentoring. These services can be delivered as a fully integrated asset management solution or selected individually to meet the specific needs, capabilities, and stage of development of each organisation.
