Planning a 43kW Crossflow turbine on the Cheddar Yeo where it flows out of Cheddar Caves. Providing 205MWh/year we hope this will support a community fund for green projects and provide an inspiring introduction to renewable energy to the 500,000+ visitors and schools who come every year.
The Cheddar Yeo had 13 mills in just the first 1/2 mile, but all had gone by the early 1900's. This will bring back power generation on the site of the most upstream mill: Cox's Mill.
