Darley Community Energy aims to re-introduce water power at Darley Abbey Mills’ historic weir using an Archimedes screw. Electricity produced will power and de-carbonise adjacent mill businesses via private wire, with profits contributing to a community fund. We will raise awareness and educational focus on the continuing role that water power plays within the Derwent Valley World Heritage corridor.
