I'm an experienced energy consultant with 16 years' experience across every major renewable energy technology and heat networks, from concept through to commercialisation. I started in a consultancy practice in Scotland, then ran my own energy consultancy and team here in Sheffield, delivering over 30 community energy projects covering every type of renewable energy technology throughout my career. I've also integrated small data centres into a number of community heat projects, bringing free heat options to the table for clients.

Alongside energy, I was Director of a specialist consultancy focussed on sustainable horticulture project support, working on over 28 feasibility, market research and R&D projects in community food and in small and large-scale sustainable greenhouse, fish, algae, mushroom and insect farming, often linked to energy projects.

Based in Sheffield, I've built community and social benefit into all my work, including outside the community energy sector, and I can explain complex issues in a simple way. I'm proud to build permaculture design principles into my work.

These days I only take on a small number of projects each year, so if I work with you I will be highly focussed, and always go the extra mile for my clients. I work as an independent consultant, and bring in my amazing network of associate consultants as and when required. All of them like me are experienced and seasoned in their work, and cover all aspects of project development form engineering design, to legal and commercial, ecology, planning and beyond.
