Stour Power Community Energy is a volunteer‑led, not‑for‑profit community benefit society working across the Stour Valley in Suffolk and Essex. They develop community‑owned renewable energy projects—including solar PV, heat networks and other low‑carbon solutions—to cut carbon emissions while delivering local social and economic benefits.
Stour Power works with schools, community groups and local businesses to install clean energy systems, prioritising community ownership and ensuring any private partnerships deliver clear public value. They raise finance through grants, community investment and ethical funding, and reinvest all surpluses into new projects or wider community benefit. Alongside project delivery, Stour Power also raises awareness, supports sustainability education, and empowers local people to play an active role in the energy transition.
