Built to support you better: introducing our new visual identity and website
10 November 2025
Today marks an important milestone for Community Energy England. We are launching our new visual identity and website to better reflect who we are as an organisation and a movement, and to ensure that we continue to meet the needs of our members and the growing sector. Community energy needs to be visible, influential, and positive, now more than ever, so we knew our digital presence had to evolve. Our sector is facing both challenges and opportunities that demand we stand out, speak up, and create spaces where collaboration thrives. This rebrand and website redesign is our response to that call.
Built on our values
Every element of our new look has been shaped by the values that define us: supporting our members and working together. The colours, the language, the layout—all of it has been crafted to feel welcoming, energising, and distinctly ours. We want you to see yourselves in this identity, to feel that it represents the incredible work you do in your communities. We are grateful to the members who have generously shared imagery with us for use on the site. We have tried to incorporate as many of these images as possible and look forward to adding more.
Our website is designed with the same principle at its heart: it’s a platform for collaboration, not just information. This is your space as much as it is ours.
We need your help
Here’s where it gets exciting. This launch isn’t the end of our journey—it’s really just the beginning. As a small team, we’ve poured everything into getting to this point, but we know there’s still much to do. More importantly, we don’t want to do it alone.
We have plans for how the site will grow and develop, but we want to hear from you about what matters most. What features would make your membership more valuable? What content would help you in your work? What tools would strengthen our sector? Your priorities will shape our roadmap. There are things we know we still need to fix (captions, for one thing, so we can properly credit your fantastic images!) but you will spot things too that we may miss and we want to hear from you.
In particular, you will see our tools & guidance section improves as we make it easier to find resources relevant to community organisations on different parts of their journey as well as key enablers, such as funders and local authorities.
Over the coming months, we’ll also be adding member-only content to ensure you get maximum value from being part of our community, while still continuing to support the sector as a whole with open resources. We are planning to do this in a phased way, and we’re working hard to bring more resources to you over time. We’re being transparent about this because we want you to be part of the process, not just observers of a finished product.
Join us on this journey
Building something meaningful takes time, especially when you’re a small team with big ambitions. We’re proud of what we’ve created, and we’re energised by what’s ahead. But the real magic will happen when you get involved—when your voices, your ideas, and your experiences shape what this platform becomes.
Take a look around the new site. Explore the fresh identity. Then let us know what you think. What should we prioritise next? What’s missing? What excites you?
This is our space to be visible, loud, and positive together. Let’s make it count.
We’d love to hear your feedback and ideas for what we should develop next. Get in touch with us at info@commmunityenergyengland.org or join the conversation in our member forums.
Let us know if there are any issues with access; there will no doubt be teething problems as this rolls out. Please be patient with us and we will support you as quickly and as best we can.
