Warm Homes Fund: innovative finance for investments and loans
Department of Energy Security and Net Zero
Deadline:
DESNZ is seeking information on where government financing can help support building decarbonisation. There is £5bn of capital for investment via ‘financial transactions’. This could deliver a massive increase in the investment going into low carbon technologies by overcoming barriers to deployment and adoption, such as upfront costs. The consultation looks at:
- the draft objectives and scope of the Warm Homes Fund
- the strategic opportunities and challenges of utilising government finance to drive forward the deployment of domestic solar, batteries, clean heat and energy efficiency measures
- specific use cases and target groups where the Warm Homes Fund might have the most impact
DNOs' future role in supporting low carbon technologies and energy efficiency in ED3
Ofgem
Deadline:
Ofgem is consulting on roles DNOs should play under the next 5 year ED3 period. This will be critical both in practical support for community energy but in putting in place the key grid edge tech and digital monitoring systems that will enable a more local-first energy system – where smart local energy systems are seen, integrated into flexibility, valued and remunerated.
