Community Energy Fortnight

Spotlighting the sector

Community Energy Fortnight is an annual, nationwide campaign reaching thousands of people and involving hundreds of organisations and it is a great opportunity to make your organisation’s activities visible within the local community and show the rest of the sector, and important stakeholders, what community energy is all about.

Community Energy Fortnight 2026 ran from 1–14 July, and we were excited to bring communities together across the country to celebrate and accelerate local climate action.

Fortnight 2026 was proudly supported by SP Energy Networks, Thrive Renewables, and Ethex, whose commitment helps power the growing community energy movement.

For 2026, Community Energy Fortnight was part of our national campaign, Up the Energy. Across these two weeks, we shined a spotlight on community-led energy through inspiring stories, local activities, and online events organised by our members.

Up the Energy is all about making community energy visible, practical, and achievable. By sharing real experiences and creating opportunities to get involved, we aimed to equip communities with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to take meaningful climate action.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part. We promoted 34 member-led events through our Fortnight calendar and across our newsletters and social media, alongside many more activities that happened up and down the country. Special thanks to Grand Union Community Energy, Bath and West Community Energy, Milton Keynes Community Energy and Thrive Renewables for taking over our social channels. Whether you hosted an event, opened your doors for a site visit, shared your story or joined the conversation, thank you for being part of it.
