Banister House Solar operates a rooftop photovoltaic panel solar array at the Banister House Estate, Homerton, Hackney, London. Energy generated powers communal parts of the estate, and is sold to the National Grid. Profit generated provides investors with an annual return on investment, and funds a community fund which the public can apply to for funding of local projects. Banister House Solar operates as a community benefit society, as part of the Repowering London family of community energy co-ops.
