Job Summary
The role holder will be responsible for building and maintaining a strong online brand presence for Younity within the community energy space, and beyond. You will be creating, scheduling, and publishing content across our key channels (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) driven by our 4 pillars; innovate, collaborate, facilitate, and inspire.
The aim for this role is to keep community energy groups up to date and engaged in our activities, whilst inspiring new audiences to get involved. You will also be exploring the introduction of TikTok into our engagement strategies, producing video content that clearly communicates the essence of community energy. You’ll bring a positive, climate activist approach to content creation, to ensure messaging resonates at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of driving, shaping, and implementing our social media strategy, building a consistent tone of voice and persona on all social media.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)— using social media analytics to inform and optimise social media marketing campaigns
- Short form copywriting for social media posts and long form copywriting for occasional blogs and newsletters
- Engage our online community through our social channels – Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Introduce TikTok to Younity and lead the strategy and delivery of content for this
- Respond to DMs and tweets quickly and effectively
- Maintain close collaboration with Octopus Energy and Midcounties Co-operative to spot opportunities to optimise engagement and collaboration
- Actively engage with other trusted channels to grow reach and improve sentiment
- Create, and keep up to date, a social media competitors’ analysis
Candidate Profile
- Social media experience – 1 + years working in social media, with TikTok experience, would be ideal
- An appreciation and affiliation with the wider environmental space with awareness and understanding of the climate crisis
- Keen interest in renewable energy
- Experience with graphics packages such as Canva to create images as required.
- Experience using social media analytics, such as Google Analytics to track activity and suggest improvements
- Ability to understand and communicate complex topics in a clear and engaging way that is digestible to all audiences
- Comfortable with content creation and copywriting
- Team player with a can-do attitude
- Communicate clearly and kindly, and build excellent relationships to get the best out of those around you
