Applications for Islington Community Energy Fund Round Two are open

09/03/2018

The Community Energy Fund aims to help community groups develop and deliver energy projects which will benefit Islington residents. Islington Council wants to find ways to spread the word about energy efficiency to residents and to encourage and support them to use less energy.

Any constituted groups with charitable aims across Islington who would like to carry out an energy-related project can apply for funding.

Funds are available through two streams:

  • Stream 1 allows organisations which do not have an expertise in energy to conduct research and feasibility studies to develop a new energy project. Funding available in this stream is £20,000. We will offer grants for £250 up to £2,500.
  • Stream 2a allows organisations with energy projects at an advanced stage of development to submit bids. £50,000 of funding is available from this stream with £15,000 available per organisation for capital projects such as retrofit and renewable energy projects
  • Stream 2b will be available to projects funded through Stream 1. Funding from this stream will open in late August 2018.
