Community Energy Fortnight - Sponsors announced!

17/04/2023

We are delighted to announce that this year's Fortnight will be sponsored by Thrive Renewables.

Community Energy Fortnight (CEF) is a vibrant nationwide campaign reaching thousands of people and involving hundreds of organisations and it is a great opportunity to make your organisation's activities visible within the local community and show the rest of the sector, and important stakeholders, what community energy is all about. CEF 2023 will run from 10 - 23 June.

Thrive Renewables is a renewable energy investment company, responsible for funding and building 32 clean energy projects across the UK since 1994. Its mission is to power the transition to a sustainable energy future by helping people meaningfully connect with clean energy projects.

Matthew Clayton, Managing Director of Thrive Renewables, said: “Community-owned renewable energy projects are not only helping people to get involved with decarbonising the UK's energy system, but are also responsible for creating new green jobs, lowering household bills and acting as a driver for regeneration.

In the past 12 months we’re proud to have funded England’s largest,100% community-owned, wind turbine in our home city of Bristol, as well as facilitated community co-investment in our 20 MW battery project – a first in the UK. We’re delighted to be sponsoring Community Energy Fortnight again this year and look forward to hearing more from the community energy groups across the UK that are ensuring the benefits of clean energy are kept local.”
