Community groups with bright ideas for energy innovation to benefit from new peer support

21/01/2021

The new Next Generation Community Energy Peer Mentoring programme is looking to recruit up to 10 passionate and enthusiastic community energy mentoring organisations and individuals.

If you're not ready to be a mentor, but could benefit from mentor support, look out for the second phase of the programme. Community energy groups developing innovative projects will be able to apply to receive peer mentoring support in late February. Working in cohorts, they can share learning and experiences – a total of 40 groups will receive support.

Who can be a mentor?

  • Keen to share knowledge and experience and work with a cohort of up to four community energy groups over a six month period starting March 2021.
  • Can identify, share and tackle the wider challenges and opportunities in the community energy sector.
  • Can help to make innovative projects and new technologies replicable and open source and avoid reinventing the wheel.

The programme is managed by Co-operatives UK and funded by Power to Change. It builds on the learning and experience to date from the Next Generation programme.

Applications for mentors are now open. You have until 15 February 2021 to apply.
