Host a graduate

31/10/2019

Charityworks is the UK non-profit sector's graduate programme, open to all charities wanting to find great graduate talent in an affordable way. Utilising their experience built up over the last 10 years, Charityworks' goal is to find charities the right graduate for their vacancies, which is evidenced in an exceptional 93% retention rate with 100% of clients stating their trainee had a positive impact on their organisation's ability to serve its beneficiaries.  Charityworks partners include organisations of all sizes including NSPCC, Marie Stopes International, Community Energy England, Doncaster Alcohol Services, Christian Aid, Tower Hamlets Homes, National Housing Federation, Who Cares? Scotland, Barnardo's.

Community Energy England has used Charityworks over the past two years to find exceptionally talented graduate interns. We have had a positive experience with both our graduate interns, and have found they have added real value to CEE. We would have partaken in the Charityworks schemes this year but we have chosen to give our current graduate intern a permanent contract.

Charityworks have asked us to promote their scheme this year. They are matching graduate talent to real roles now and for the coming weeks - so If you think you might be interested in filling a vacancy with a Charityworks graduate or want to discuss how a graduate could support your work, you can contact craig@charity-works.co.uk or call 0203 620 5252.

Owing to a record 5,500 applications to the programme resulting in Charityworks obtaining Times Top 100 Graduate Employer status for a third consecutive year, their candidate pool is the broadest they've ever had, with 350 exceptional graduates scoring incredibly highly through our robust selection process, ready for matching now.  The talent pool is also the most diverse we've ever had, doubling the number of candidates from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Background (BAME) thanks to our innovative new positive action scheme.  Additionally, we're still holding a remarkable programme retention rate of 93%, despite taking more placements than ever last year.

The right person for the right role
Candidates have been rigorously assessed through written, group-based and strategic exercises and a panel interview, and scored exceptionally highly against a robust competency framework based on 10 years of recruiting the best graduates in the sector. Organisations outline the role and tell Charityworks about the person they are looking for: their interests, experience and specialist skills. Because of the breadth and quality of the talent pool, Charityworks can fill vacancies across almost all business functions.  Charityworks then match the best graduate for the role based on your requirements, producing a written recommendation outlining why both the candidate and placement team think they are right for the role.

Your decision
Hiring managers are invited to review, on paper, any recommendations and meet their candidate to determine a sense of organisational fit.  Only once you've found the ideal candidate will you proceed to hire and, though it's extremely rare, if Charityworks can't find you a suitable match you're under no obligation to participate.
