Westmill Solar Cooperative aims to contribute to climate change mitigation by financing a reliable source of nature-friendly renewable energy, provide local people and other investors with a stable, reliable source of income, and help our area transition to a low carbon future economy.

The project generates around 5 GWh per year of clean electricity, equivalent to the average electricity needs of our 1,500 members or all the houses in the local villages of Watchfield and Shrivenham. The community funding set aside each year by our members lets us extend our reach, supporting local environmental education, energy efficiency and pioneering research projects.
As a cooperative, Westmill stands for cooperation, participation and community, values we share with Community Energy England. We are delighted to be part of this growing movement for a decarbonised, decentralised and democratised energy system.
